Allan Moss AO
Allan Moss graduated from Sydney University in Arts with a major in Economics and in Law with Honours. He also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with High Distinction from Harvard University.
Allan was with Macquarie Group from 1977 until his retirement in 2008, serving as Chief Executive Officer for 15 years from 1993. Under his leadership, Macquarie’s staff grew more than eightfold, profits more than twentyfold, and its market capitalisation more than fortyfold – with successful operations in all the major financial centres of the world.
He has received numerous industry awards and other recognitions, including being twice named by Barron’s magazine as one of the thirty most respected CEOs in the world. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2005.
Allan is currently Principal of Allan Moss Investments Pty Ltd, a private investment company, and is also associated with several other commercial and not-for-profit activities. He is a current board member of the Reserve Bank and a member of the Audit Committee.
