On the first edition of the Morning Mail for the week, Philip Anglin is joined by Evans & Partners’ Chief Investment Officer, Mike Hawkins.
With ongoing volatility in investment markets, Mike reiterates his view that clients should look through the noise and invest in quality businesses domestically and overseas.
Many companies are holding their Annual General Meetings this week. We will be paying particular attention to market updates from BHP Billiton, Commonwealth Bank and Telstra. Clients should discuss weightings to resources, banks and Telstra in their portfolio with their Adviser following these updates.
Finally, clients who are targeting an increase in the cash yield from their portfolio should to speak with their Adviser in relation to bank holdings. ANZ, NAB and Westpac Bank have recently gone ex-dividend and clients can discuss purchasing Commonwealth Bank for the next dividend in February 2012.
