OUR PEOPLE

George has almost 15 years of financial sector experience in equities research, private equity, investment banking and advisory working for Deutsche, CSFB and ANZ. His broad professional experience is complemented by extensive tertiary and professional qualifications.

George commenced his career in equities research at Deutsche Bank as an assistant analyst in telecommunications, food & beverages and transport sectors. He then moved to Credit Suisse First Boston investment banking where he worked on a range of equity capital market, merger & acquisition and advisory mandates across multiple sectors. This was followed by broad experience at ANZ Banking Group including Group Strategic Development, Private Equity, Institutional Bank and Private Bank (where he advised the ultra high net worth client segment). His most recent prior experience was at Burdett Buckeridge and Young Ltd (BBY) as Head of Financial Services Equity Research, where he had the rare distinction of being simultaneously rated in three sectors (small caps, diversified financials and banks) in the 2010 BRW/East Coles survey.

George completed the double degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)/Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales. He completed FINSIA’s Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and is a Fellow of FINSIA. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Affiliate of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria.

George contributes to the financial services profession through publication of articles in professional journals, formal mentoring programs, and contribution to the Board of the CFA Society of Melbourne.

At Evans and Partners, George’s mandate is to identify high conviction investment ideas across the universe of listed stocks. His research model is differentiated in that his coverage of large cap stocks often provides unique insights which are applicable to smaller and mid cap stocks.
