OUR PEOPLE

Kevin is currently Chairman of Origin Energy Limited, Lead Independent Director of Macquarie Group Limited; a director of Macquarie Bank Limited and a director of BlueScope Steel Limited. He is also the Chairman of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust a Commonwealth agency (restoring defence land on Sydney Harbour foreshores). He is a member of the Takeovers Panel, Council Member of the National Library of Australia, NSW President and a member of the Board of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee of the AICD. His community activities include Chairmanship of the Development Council of the National Library of Australia.

Kevin was a partner of Allens Arthur Robinson (and its predecessor firm Allen Allen & Hemsley) from 1970 to 2004 and Chairman of Partners from 1995 to 2004. At Allens Arthur Robinson he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and privatisations across industries as diverse as the resources sector, telecommunications, new economy start-ups and financial services. He was previously Chairman of Healthscope Limited (a listed integrated health provider) and a director of Pioneer International Limited, Ampol Limited (refiner and retailer of petroleum products) and the State Rail Authority of New South Wales and served on the Defence Procurement Advisory Board (which advised the Minister for Defence on defence procurement policy).

He was made a member of the Order of Australia in 2006 for services to business, the legal profession and the community. He is a graduate in Arts and Law (Honours) from University of Sydney and has a Master of laws from Harvard University.
