Dear Clients
I write to you at a time where financial markets are creating significant pain and uncertainty. The financial crisis in America is clearly concerning all investors and market practitioners. I thought it was important to inform you of a few key facts about Evans and Partners as we navigate these uncertain times.
Fact 1 – Evans and Partners has a significant capital base and does not use its balance sheet for principal trading, or to issue protected products or mortgages that expose us to any balance sheet risk. Our balance sheet remains strong to support the growth of our business. Our capital is currently invested in bank bills. Put simply our business is about providing advice across all asset classes to our clients under a fee for service model.
Fact 2 – Our business has started well with the support of many thousands of clients across Australia looking for the type of investment service that we are now offering. We have also been supported by the Institutional market which has appreciated dealing with a true agency business and has embraced our fresh approach to researching the Australian market.
Fact 3 – It is not our intention to merge with any US or European investment bank. It is our view that our independent model allows us the ability to service clients with minimal conflict of interest.
Fact 4 – As stated in the Australian Financial Review this week, it remains the intention of Evans and Partners to grow our already successful and well-capitalised business during these uncertain and difficult times in financial markets.
We believe this is the right time to expand our team beyond 40 as it currently stands, and we think our model will continue to attract quality people in areas such as Investment Research, Institutional, Advisory Services and High Net Worth Advice. Access to experienced quality people who have expertise in managing investment portfolios is critical for our clients’ financial well-being.
I thought it was important to bring our clients up to date with where we sit after nearly 12 months of operation. It is important and comforting for clients to know and understand. It is also important to understand that the focus of Evans and Partners remains unchanged – to be 100% focused on driving better investment returns for our clients.
